Shake up your routine
One of the quickest ways to become inactive is to get bored with your routine. Fortunately, there are many options available for you to change up your workout to avoid burnout. When it comes to fitness, it’s always best to keep a beginner’s mindset and allow yourself the freedom to try different things. There are various forms of exercise you can implement weekly, or however often you decide to try something new. If cardio is a fave of yours, try switching to something with a more gentle pace on certain days such as yoga or another core-strengthening practice. Keep in mind that over time, if you do not switch up your workout routine, your body will become accustomed to your workout and you may not be getting as much out of it as you had previously. If you are not sure which exercises to begin incorporating, head to your local gym (or pool) and chose from the array of classes they have to offer.
Eat what’s in season
Eating what is in season is merely ingesting the foods that are in their peak, in terms of harvest or flavor. As the seasons change, produce offered at your local grocery store will vary. Choosing to eat foods that are in season maximize their nutritional value, which is of great benefit to you and your body! A little research conducted on your end will allow you to find what’s in season in your area and the best places to buy. The more you honor your body with food that is whole, healthy and rich in nutrients the better it will respond to all of your fitness efforts. True health and wellness begins in the kitchen!
Utilize your time wisely
The most common excuse people use when it comes to working out or eating healthy is that they do not have enough time. However, even if you were allotted more than 24 hours in a day, would you use it to your advantage? Bottom line is, time is what you make it! Taking an hour to exercise makes up for only 4% of your day. A whooping 4 percent! If you are an early riser, utilize the morning hours to get your workout in for the day. If the only time you have available is after work, be sure to keep your gym bag packed and in your car. As long as you set yourself up for success, there is no way you can miss the mark on your health and wellness goals!
Turning your health choices into a lifestyle takes time, patience and determination, however once you nail it, it will become the most rewarding experience of your life. If you make the conscious effort to pour good into your body, your body will thank you tenfold in the long run. Eating healthy and maintaining a fitness regimen has plenty of physical perks, but the real bonus is the changes that occur within!
